Meet Fern!

Hello everybody!

Today I would like to introduce to you my little partner in crime, Sr. Fernly (or Fern for short)!

Fern is my rabbit and I have had the great joy of having him in my life for the past 5 years!

Fern is actually a registered Emotional Support animal. He would often help me when I was overly stressed and anxious or would play with me when I was so down I couldn't pull myself out of the darkness.

There really is nothing like a small fur ball who will do anything to get your attention off of the negative and on to the pettings and treats.

Some info on Fern
Fern is a 5 year old Mini Lop rabbit. (5 years, where has the time gone?)

He is playful and always gets into things he shouldn't.

When he was younger we did a lot of training and that really helped our relationship together, working as a team really pulled us together.

Now he is just a sweat fully snuggle bun who wants pettings more then anything else.

I went away to school for 2 years, my mother taking care of him in my absence. During that time he got really close to my Mom. When I came back I felt I might never have a special relationship with him anymore as I felt he would be mad at me for leaving for so long.

How wrong I was.

He accepted that I had been away better then I did and all he wanted and wants is love and affection. I think if anything our bond is stronger then it has ever been.

Fern is my second bunny out of three.
Both Duchess and Skippy hop over rainbow bridge now, but I know they are always with me.

I love Fern dearly, and hope for many more happy moments to share with him.

First Up-cycle! Kawaii Pink shirt with Black Hearts and Lace

I've been wanting to do this thing called up-cycling for a long time now.・゜゜・.

Up-cycling is taking things and giving them a revamp. Maybe theres a T-shirt you'd like better as a crop top or no sleeves. Up-cycle! Maybe your jeans are to dark, bleach them. Up-cycle! Maybe a Dress would look cuter with a few more frills and buttons. Up-cycle!

After months and months of thinking I should but never doing it, I finally decided it was time I tried! 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆

Today's project is this cute pink spaghetti strap top with black hearts on it. I always felt it was cute, but not quite my style....

The first thing I decided to do to it was add lace to the bottom。.。:+♡*♥ This was my mothers lace. (*^ ^*) Now, I do not have one peace big enough for the whole project, so I will have to use multiple pieces of this same lace.

I used this wide pretty durable lace!
Okay, so now for the part of attaching it! You are going to want to pin the front sides together. So put the shirt upright, then place the lace on top of it upside down and pin! You can't really tell with this lace as it is mostly similar on the front and back.  *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Upsides together and pin!

Like so!
Time to start sewing! You are going to want to get a similar color tread to the fabrics you are using. I am using white as the lace is white. I am also going to double my thread so there is more support then a single thread for this project.。o○☆

I am using these needles and thread.

Double the thread on your needle
You want your stitches small and relatively similar in size. I am still having difficulty with this, I have some good stretches but a lot of bad stretches here in this piece. Here are some examples:

More like this

Try to avoid this
After we finish sewing, we flip the right side of the lace foreword. this was the aria in which we stitched will be on the back. Now it must be ironed so it lays flat and doesn't roll up.  *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Flipped over

Ironed, doesn't it look so much better?
So this is the piece after ironing! I think it looks much nicer then before! The lace adds a little more length to it and makes it much cuter I feel! *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

The hem is not perfect, but good enough for now I feel

Where I had to use another piece of lace. I added this little detail to make it look as if it was a design element rather then 2 pieces put together

✧・゚: *✧・゚:* Before and After *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Some Pictures in an outfit!
