I've made 5 squares for the blanket I am crocheting! Do you think it's enough? Haha....

Some Lovely Things

Recently, life has been tough, but there have been many lovely things as well.*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Recently I have stopped drinking coffee as it was not agreeing with me very well. (TT-TT)・゜゜・.

I have been drinking tea instead.♡ I used to be an avid tea drinker but kind of stopped when I discovered coffee.

I forgot how much I like tea. And not to say coffee is bad, coffee is delicious and I hope to be able to drink it again someday. +..。*゚+

So I have been drinking tea quite a bit lately and have been really enjoying it. Most of the time I drink it in a mug but sometimes I like to get out the tea things and have a proper tea. I am glad to be able to do so.  。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆

I made a delicious banana bread! link to that post is here

The fact that I had the time to bake a bread was so nice! (Granted banana bread is pretty quick and easy to bake but still!) ( *^ ^*)・゜゜・.

I am home most of the time and that brings new opportunities to do things like, make banana bread!

I also really enjoyed eating it I must say. It came out so nice! And who doesn't like eating a warm slice of cakey bread with butter on it?。.。:+♡*♥

Recently I have had the privilege of being able to wake up in the morning not to an alarm clock, but when ever my body wakes up! How lovely to be able to wake up with the sun instead of by a buzzer! (*^ ^*)

Now, I do tend to stay up too late so I am still sleep deprived anyway, but I feel so lucky to have this gentle wakeup. It is so peaceful.

Do you have lovely things in your life? Think of something and then comment it below!。.。:+♡*♥

The making of the Banana Bread

So I'm not much into cooking. Sometimes I enjoy it, if I'm making something special and I'm in the right mood for it. But on a day to day business, not so much. I not only find it not to my immediate taste, I find it slightly anxiety provoking. (>_<) ・゚゚・。

However, baking I can do more often. Still not my favorite thing to do the the world when I'm not in the mood, but much more then cooking. (*^ω^*)*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

I happen to make a oatmeal cookie that everyone seems to like. They liked it enough in fact  I was put in charge of supplying cookies and other goodies I might like to make to satisfy our families sweet tooth (◕)♩♪♩♬

This week, there where some very over-ripe bananas that I kept meaning to make into banana bread, but I always forgot. The other day, I finally made the banana bread. I used this respite from simplyrecipies.com and made a double batch, just enough for one large loaf of banana bread!  (*^ ^)/彡☆

I served it with fresh strawberries and everyone seemed to like it if asking for seconds counts for anything. (*^ ^*)。.。:+♡*♥

I hope you enjoyed this post!~ Do you like to bake/cook? Please feel free to leave a comment, I'd love to know!

Adjusting to Change

Adjusting to change can be really hard.

I live with my Mom and my Grandmother. My Grandmother was recently in the hospital and then in rehab.

For her to come home there was a lot of change. Like moving of furniture and basically the whole apartment was turned upside down so we could get the right things to take care of her.

I actually really like the new set up, but it is change and change is hard for me. It takes me a while to re-adjust.

It seems strange as I like the new set up better then the old one, but it can still be hard to make that switch. For me anyway.

Here are some pictures of my lovely new Painting aria and and window (and bunny lounging)

Sakura Girl Painting Tutorial- ShadowBunnyChu

So I tried something new! I made a picture art tutorial on my watercolor painting Sakura Girl.
Check out the preview here:

So I started with the skintone, I wanted the light to come from behind so I made quite a few shadows.

So I have added to the background and the accessories. I find i build on my art, it is a series of layers and layers and layers.

Coming along, just need fine details sorted out. Highlights and lowlights and such. Also some definition to the piece...

You can check out this full tutorial on shadowbunnychu.blogspot.com

Appreciating the little things

I feel before in my life it took a lot to entertain me and I wasn't very easily impressed..... with anything.

I wanted excitement and something I was particularly into at that moment and and to things that weren't everyday things. (travel the world and ride horses everyday and go shopping all the time and such) and while these things are well and good, they are not everyday things.

I considered the everyday mundane and boring  I failed to see the beauty around me, right where I was and to appreciate the people that I spent my life with. For I have found good company is much more valuable then other things.

The other day I took Grandma out and we looked at a apple tree blossoming and ate homemade cookies I had made the day before. How beautiful and amazing that was! Yet my younger self would have thought this lovely moment a bore.

I am so glad I can see the world around me in such a different way. I am so grateful.

What small thing do you find joy in?

Making the Best of a New Space

Hello~
My family and I have recently been moving a lot of stuff in our house furniture wise and such. While this is fun, now I have to figure out how I'm going to arrange everything! It's kinda a second chance of re-organizing and decorating!

There is a windowsill above my bed, so It's the perfect spot for my art stuff, then I can get to it easy and then be more likely to remember to do art. Also, everything is set up so I don't have to go to the pain of unpacking and packing. Everything is right there!

It's definitely not done yet, nor is anything else like my closet and living space in general, but it's a start!
I can't wait till everything is organized and I can really start with the decorating part!
(^ . ^)
Hope you are having a lovely day!

Starting something for me -soft white through entry 1

Sometimes you have to do something for yourself. I felt I have been trough care taking, because I am around the ones I love.

However, I have been urged to do something else, for me.

This is how I came to the conclusion I would make a crochet trough for myself.
It is interesting that I chose crochet as I was brought up a knitter, knitting from the age of 2. However, I also know crochet. A little while ago, I was having trouble with my hands. It became incredibly hard to do either, but particularly knitting, which was incredibly sad for me.

I recently started crocheting up again though as I wanted to finish a project I had left incomplete. I found crocheting was easier for me with my particular situation, funny enough, most people say crocheting is harder on the hands. I think it might have something to do with the fact I was knitting with small needles. We will have to see!

Anyway, I found this knitting pattern on http://freevintagecrochet.com. They have lots and lots of beautiful royalty free patterns for crochet of all different sorts.
I chose the Rose Trellis Afghan Pattern found here: http://freevintagecrochet.com/afghan-patterns/coats127/rose-trellis-afghan-pattern
I dont intend to put the roses on, but hey, we will see! I think it is a very cute pattern and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Here is the first square I did! I intend to do it all in white for a romantic feel. I think it will look very pretty.
